B Praak: Crafting Hits and Composing a Legacy

Pratik Bachan’s Journey to Becoming B Praak

Early Life & Musical Journey

Born and raised in Chandigarh, B Praak completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s. Music ran in his family — his father, Varinder Bachan, and uncle, Surinder Bachan, are legendary music directors in the Punjabi industry. While he initially aimed to be a singer, his path shifted to music composition, where he has achieved massive success.

His portfolio includes hits like Soch, Joker by Hardy Sandhu, Taara by Ammy Virk, Ik Saal by Jassi Gill, and the album Shayar, which won him the PTC Best Music Director Award 2014-15. Early setbacks didn’t deter him:

“After changing my name(from Praky B to B Praak), no disappointments, no regrets.”

B Praak approaches every composition with passion, believing that every song must be done perfectly. For him, a music director’s key skills include being a strong composer, a keen listener, and having mastery of instruments. He draws inspiration from all genres and languages:

“Music has no language. If you ask me my mother tongue, I would say my mother tongue is music.”

Philosophy & Future Plans

B Praak emphasizes professionalism in the Punjabi music industry and advises upcoming music directors to work not just as arrangers but also as composers. Looking ahead, he sees himself in Mumbai, creating music for Bollywood films, and preparing to release his debut album.

Music dominates his life, but he also enjoys fashion in a simple way — his wardrobe is full of t-shirts. His personal philosophy is clear:

“If you forget to smile, just play or sing your favourite song. Your smile will be back in a second.”

Fan Love & Personal Message

B Praak values his fans and the respect they show for his work: “Just love you a lot and keep loving and supporting me and my work.”
